With its rugged brass construction and small footprint, along with its ability to handle high SPLs, the AE2300 is a versatile microphone that can capture the sounds of guitar amplifiers, brass instruments, woodwind instruments, and percussion instruments with clarity and accuracy.
The dual-membrane diaphragm enables the AE2300 microphone to maintain directionality across the entire frequency range, with minimal off-axis coloration (the frequency response is virtually identical at 0, 90, and 180°) for excellent phase cohesion in multi-mic setups. The microphone also comes equipped with a switchable low-pass filter that cuts harsh, high-frequency noise, such as guitar amp hiss or hi-hat bleed on a snare drum, without adversely affecting an instrument's overall tone—a particularly useful tool in live setups for achieving a clear, focused sound.
