His dedication and passion for guitars led Mr. Fender to create one of his most important inventions for G&L: a new, patented pickup style called Magnetic Field Design. The first feature you'll notice on the Comanche model is the distinctive shape of the Magnetic Field Design™ Z-Coil™ pickups, designed by Leo Fender himself. These pickups deliver a bright top end while offering a robust low end.
You'll find tons of power from the Z-coil pickups, but what's most surprising is how detailed and crisp they become as you manipulate the volume and bass controls, the latter part of Comanche's PTB™ (Passive Treble and Bass) system. Plus, the Comanche series includes an expander switch on the treble control so you can use all three pickups simultaneously.
